- Is aged 18 years or over and has a body weight of 40kg or over
- Is not allergic to atovaquone/proguanil or any of the other ingredients in this medication
- Has checked the NHS Fit For Travel website to see if this medication is suitable for the area of travel (please contact the pharmacy if you are unsure if this medication is suitable)
- Is not pregnant or breastfeeding
- Does not have the following conditions:
- Kidney or liver problems
- Epilepsy
- Tuberculosis
- Depression
- Does not take the following medications:
- Metoclopramide
- Medication used to treat HIV
- Etoposide
- Antibiotics such as tetracyclines, rifampicin or rifabutin
- Warfarin or other oral anti-coagulants
- Agrees to read the patient information leaflet before using this product
