Phenergan Elixir 100ml

Phenergan Elixir is a versatile medication used for short-term relief from insomnia, allergies (such as hay fever or hives), motion sickness, and as a sedative for children over 5 years. The active ingredient, promethazine hydrochloride, is a powerful antihistamine that provides fast and long-lasting symptom relief.

Common Side Effects: Drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, blurred vision, headaches, nightmares, restlessness, indigestion.

Serious Side Effects: Allergic reactions (rash, difficulty breathing, swelling), liver problems (jaundice), muscle stiffness, uncontrolled muscle movements, fast or irregular heartbeat, prolonged tiredness, overactive behavior in children.

General Warnings: Not suitable for children under 2 years. Avoid if allergic to promethazine or other ingredients, or if taking MAOIs. Consult a doctor if pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have liver/kidney problems, asthma, epilepsy, heart issues, or an intolerance to some sugars. Avoid alcohol and operating machinery if drowsy.

For Allergies:

• Children 2-5 years: 1-3 5ml spoonfuls as a single dose or 1 5ml spoonful twice a day. Max 3 spoonfuls/day.
• Children 5-10 years: 1-5 5ml spoonfuls as a single dose or 1-2 5ml spoonfuls twice a day. Max 5 spoonfuls/day.
• Children over 10 years and adults: Start with 2 5ml spoonfuls twice a day, increasing to a max of 4 spoonfuls three times a day if necessary.

For Nausea/Travel Sickness:

• Children 2-5 years: 1 5ml spoonful the night before travel, repeat after 6-8 hours if needed.
• Children 5-10 years: 2 5ml spoonfuls the night before travel, repeat after 6-8 hours if needed.
• Children over 10 years and adults: 5 5ml spoonfuls the night before travel, repeat after 6-8 hours if needed.

For Sedation and Insomnia:

• Children 2-5 years: 3-4 5ml spoonfuls as a single dose at night.
• Children 5-10 years: 4-5 5ml spoonfuls as a single dose at night.
• Children over 10 years and adults: Tablets are recommended.
