Phenergan 10mg Tablets contain Promethazine Hydrochloride, an antihistamine that relieves allergy symptoms such as rashes, itchy or watery eyes, coughs, and sneezes. It is also effective for motion sickness and short-term insomnia. Each pack contains 56 tablets.
What can you use Phenergan for? Phenergan can be used to ease symptoms of allergic reactions and hay fever, such as rashes, itchy or watery eyes, coughs, and sneezes. It is also effective in preventing and treating motion sickness by preventing nausea, allowing you to travel comfortably. Additionally, Phenergan can be used as a short-term remedy for insomnia, helping you fall asleep more easily.
How does promethazine hydrochloride help? Promethazine hydrochloride is an antihistamine that belongs to the phenothiazines group of medicines. During an allergic reaction, your body produces histamine, which causes symptoms like a runny nose or watery eyes. Promethazine blocks histamine receptors, preventing these symptoms and providing relief.
Can I take Phenergan if pregnant or breastfeeding? If you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant, or are breastfeeding, it is important to consult your doctor or our pharmacist before taking Phenergan. This ensures the medication is safe for you and your baby. Do not take Phenergan if you are breastfeeding or within two weeks of giving birth.
Will these tablets make me drowsy? Yes, Phenergan tablets can cause drowsiness. It is recommended not to drive or operate machinery until you know how the medication affects you. The sedative effect can help with insomnia but may interfere with activities requiring alertness.
Can I drink alcohol while taking this product? It is advised not to drink alcohol while taking Phenergan. Alcohol can enhance the drowsiness effect of the medication and may also interfere with its effectiveness and increase the risk of side effects.
Can I take this product with other medications? Before taking Phenergan, consult your doctor or our pharmacist if you are on other medications, including herbal remedies. Certain medications, such as MAOIs (for depression), anticholinergic drugs (for IBS, asthma, weak bladder), and medications for depression, sleep, or pain, may interact with Phenergan.
