Nurofen for Children is a liquid medicine designed to alleviate pain and fever in children aged between 3 months and 9 years. Available in strawberry flavor, it comes with an easy-dosing syringe for accurate administration.

What kinds of symptoms can this product be used for?

  • Teething pain

How will this product reduce my child’s pain and fever? It contains ibuprofen, a Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAID), which helps reduce pain, inflammation, and fever.

Can I give this medicine to my child if they’re taking any other medication? Consult a doctor or our pharmacist if your child is taking other medications, especially other NSAIDs, aspirin, diuretics, anticoagulants, high blood pressure medications, lithium, methotrexate, zidovudine, corticosteroids, cardiac glycosides, ciclosporin, tacrolimus, mifepristone, quinolone antibiotics, or antiplatelet drugs.

Can adults take this medicine? While designed for children, adults can take it if advised by a doctor or our pharmacist. It’s important to read the patient information leaflet for additional warnings for adults.

Do not use if:

  • Child is under 3 months or weighs less than 5kg.
  • Allergic to ibuprofen, aspirin, or other NSAIDs.
  • Child has severe heart, kidney, or liver failure.

Consult a doctor if:

  • Child has high blood pressure, heart problems, asthma, liver, kidney, or bowel problems.
  • Child is dehydrated, has SLE (systemic lupus erythematosus), chronic inflammatory bowel disease, or chickenpox.

Side effects may include:

  • Blood in stools, vomiting blood, wheezing, rash, swelling, fever, jaundice, sore throat.
  • Bruising, tiredness, infections, headache, diarrhea, wind, constipation, stroke, heart problems, high blood pressure, stomach ulcer, serious skin reactions.

Consult a doctor or our pharmacist before use if you have underlying medical problems or are taking other medications. Do not exceed the recommended dose. Instructions for Use:

  1. Shake the bottle well before use.
  2. Insert the syringe into the bottle's plug.
  3. Turn the bottle upside down, drawing the required dose into the syringe.
  4. Administer the medicine slowly into the child's mouth, aiming between the cheek and gums.

Dosage:

  • Fever caused by immunisation (3 months and over, >5kg): One 2.5ml dose up to twice a day.
  • Fever, pain, and symptoms of cold and flu:
  • 3-6 months: One 2.5ml dose 3 times a day.
  • 6-12 months: One 2.5ml dose 3-4 times a day.
  • 1-3 years: One 5ml dose 3 times a day.
  • 4-6 years: One 7.5ml dose (5ml + 2.5ml) 3 times a day.
  • 7-9 years: One 10ml dose (2 x 5ml) 3 times a day.
  • 10-12 years: One 15ml dose (3 x 5ml) 3 times a day.

Active ingredient: Ibuprofen 100 mg per 5 ml
