WHO THIS IS FOR

Where are you switching from?

FROM WEGOVY PEN

Same medicine, new form.

Your prescriber confirms the pill dose that matches where you are on the pen ladder. Same active ingredient, taken daily instead of weekly.

FROM MOUNJARO

Different medicine, fresh start.

Tirzepatide and semaglutide are never swapped like-for-like. Switching means starting the Pill at its starting dose, with your prescriber’s sign-off.

NEW TO GLP-1s

No switch needed.

Start the standard five-minute consultation and, if suitable, begin at the starting dose — no injections ever involved.

Your dose, mapped by a prescriber.

There’s no self-serve conversion chart — an independent prescriber confirms your equivalent pill strength individually, based on your current dose and how treatment has been going.

  1. Tell us your current dose

Your pen strength and how long you’ve been on it — covered in the switching consultation.

  2. Prescriber confirms your pill dose

Habibah or Fatima, our Independent Prescribers, map your starting strength before anything is dispensed.

  3. One pill, once a day

Dispatched in plain packaging within 14 working days. Every order one-off — no auto-renewal.

HOW TO TAKE IT

Taking it right.

Four rules that help the pill work the way it should.

  1. Empty stomach

First thing in the morning, before any food or drink.

  2. Half a glass of water

Swallow whole with up to 120ml — no more.

  3. Wait 30 minutes

Before eating, drinking or taking other medicines.

  4. Same time daily

    Consistency keeps levels steady.

When do I take the first pill?

Take your first pill on the day your next injection would have been due. No overlap, no gap — your prescriber confirms the exact plan in your switching review.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Switching questions, answered.

Is the pill as effective as the injection?

The Wegovy Pill is oral semaglutide — the same active ingredient as the Wegovy pen, taken as a daily tablet rather than a weekly injection. How any treatment works varies from person to person, and it depends on taking the tablet as directed (see “Taking it right” above). Your prescriber will go through what to expect on your dose before you start.

Will I lose progress when I switch?

That is exactly what your switching review is for. There is no self-serve conversion chart: a prescriber looks at your current dose and how treatment has been going, then confirms which pill strength to start you on. As above, that starting point differs depending on whether you are coming from the Wegovy pen or from Mounjaro — so ask your prescriber what your switch will look like.

Can I switch back to the pen later?

Nothing is locked in. Our prescribers can advise on switching between Mounjaro, Wegovy, the Wegovy Pill and Orlistat if one isn’t right for you. Message the team and a prescriber will review your options with you.

Will my side effects change?

Side effects vary from person to person and can differ between treatments, so this is one to put to your prescriber rather than take from a web page. You will be told what to look out for, and what to do if it happens, before you start — and you can message our pharmacy team at any point during treatment. Always read the patient information leaflet that comes with your medicine.
